Humanitarian Relief

With the sun as a shining constant, HAVEN can provide a source of psychological comfort by keeping families safe in temporary environments.
"Access to reliable light and power can mean the difference between vulnerability and resilience in humanitarian settings. Solar lanterns and power banks not only provide safety and dignity for families, but also enable medical teams and aid workers to deliver life-saving services when and where they are needed most."

Education

HAVEN helps ensure safe travel to and from school and allows children to study at home in the evenings, empowering the next generation.
"Following the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, Kids of Kathmandu distributed thousands of donated solar lights to students in conjunction with our school rebuilding initiative. These lights were invaluable in providing a sense of normalcy and enabling the students to continue their studies at home.”

Entrepreneurship

Through the power of the sun, HAVEN can help businesses extend their hours after the sun goes down.
"Solar lanterns are accessible, affordable, and life changing. Whether its enhanced personal safety for women, more financial opportunity, dramatically improved health for families…the benefits are vast. I’ve seen firsthand how solar lanterns transform communities and reduce dependence on kerosene and firewood. Solar lanterns are tools for equity, capacity building and environmental progress.”

Emergency Preparedness

With pre-positioned aid in mind, HAVEN is compact and portable and can last up to 20 nights on a single charge. Fully expanded, HAVEN shines up to 1,200 lumens of light.
“I've worked in refugee camps and disaster zones around the world. Time and again, I've seen that when we bring reliable light and power to displaced families, we give children more than security and comfort after dark—we restore their ability to read, study, and learn, something crises tries to steal.”

WASH

HAVEN provides safety and refuge by enabling more secure hygiene areas for women and children.
"The families in our programs at Save the Children were so appreciative of these solar lights. Kids used the lights to safely travel to latrines and to comfort themselves during emergencies while sleeping in shelters. The lights are well-engineered, durable and easy to use. I highly recommend them for NGO use."

Disaster Relief

Whether in response to fires, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, or hurricanes, HAVEN is a first responder.
"While at World Central Kitchen, I globally distributed thousands of innovative portable solar lights and chargers alongside essential food aid. The lightweight technology is easily deployed in the field in the critical first days and weeks after a disaster, providing light and phone charging at acutely vulnerable times. This combination of food, light and power provided immediate and essential relief and empowerment to those affected by disasters, globally."
